The Positives:
Still happy with the purchase. No recalls. No issues. Nothing has stopped working properly. NAV updates with no issues. Lots of power when filled with adults and camping gear. Handles well. I can’t say enough how great the AWD system is with winter tires - it handles rural roads, mountains and city driving with ice and snow without issue; has surprised many passengers, including a Subaru owner. AC is good. Heats up easily even when colder than -30 Celsius. Regular maintenance, nothing more. Larger on the inside than it looks. The driver assist features are top notch.

The Negatives:
It is a loud vehicle - wind and road noise. The stock tires give lots of road noise. I can’t pin point it but I feel there is a cold draft by the driver pillar. It is a firm drive for some.

Overall still very happy. For the price point don’t know if you could get much better. It just works. Engine runs smooth, I prefer the DCT to IVT. The mileage is pretty good given the AWD is always on.

Yes, here in Oz, we also have the Kuhmos as the standard fitting, and although they wear well, they are a bit noisy. I was considering a change to Bridgestones at the stage new tyres are needed. Anyone else able to comment. One point though, if your model is like mine - ie AWD, this means they are on-demand AWD, not full time AWD like say the Subarus, so ideally you should not routinely drive with the diff lock on, unless in slippery conditions, or you will get much faster tyre wear and also some diff parts will wear faster as well. Unless that is, the US model is meant to be full time AWD, which I doubt. Cheers,

By always on, I just mean more so as in there is no mode to keep it only front wheel drive, like Mitsubishi and other brands have. Further, from a stop, or even speeds under 30km/h - it sends power pretty much 50/50 front and back until you hit about 50km/h which by then it is 100% just sending power to the front in standard road conditions. So in normal city driving it is often powering all four wheels even without slippage etc.

I agree it isn’t a full time awd system - but from a stop it auto sends to all four wheels. Where many other brands just sent to the front unless slippage is detected.

Ah. Right. Understood. However it sounds like some do have the diff locked quite often, and several posters on the forum seem unaware that this matters. But yes, it has an excellent on demand system. 👍

I was interested by the fact that when I took to experiementing the three drive modes, the power is sent to the rear more or less proportionately to what mode you are in. Sends a lot if in Sport, moderate amount in what ours is labeled Normal, (Smart in the US & Canada it appears), and very little, except at take-off when in Eco setting. More would come on tap in all modes if conditions were slippery of course. I guess it's another reason why Eco is more fuel miserly, not just because of different gear shift characteristics.
