Hey everyone, I wanted to start a thread to keep track of all the information regarding the Seltos' pricing.

Since the Kia Seltos was officially revealed on June 20th, Kia has not officially released the starting price for the international market. However, news outlets in India have been speculating what the price range could be for the Seltos.

AutoCar India expects the price range to between Rs 11-17 lakh (ex-showroom), which is roughly $15,822.95 to $24,453.65 US.
India Today expects the price range to be between Rs 10-16 lakh (ex-showroom), which is roughly $14,375.00 to $23,000.00 US.
Overdrive India expects the price range to be between Rs 15-21 lakh (on road), which is roughly $21,562.50 to $30,187.50 US.

For the North American Market, Car and Driver expects the Seltos to be the same size as the Hyundai Kona. If that's the case it's possible that the Seltos could have a starting price of around $19,240 like the Kona.

From my understanding, the ex-showroom price for Indian car sales doesn't include fees like registration, insurance, and road tax. While the on road price does.

The U.S. spec Seltos just made its debut and STILL nothing on pricing.

Spoke to dealers and they have nothing to provide!

Lucky for us, the Hyundai Venue is essentially the Hyundai version of the Seltos and all the details we could ever want on it is out right now. Kia and Hyundai prices on similar models almost always come close to each other.

Hyundai Venue Pricing (Quoted From Another Thread):
"Hyundai has officially announced its pricing for the Venue ahead of its American release. It starts from $17,250 and goes to $22,050 for the most expensive version, there's also a $1,095 freight charge. It will have a lower starting price than the Nissan Kicks ($18,640), Kia Soul ($17,490), and Ford EcoSport ($20,485)."

Some publications seem to agree as well.
One reported: "The Seltos will cost about half as much — all-wheel-drive models will start under $22,000, FWD lower — but Kia plans to offer unaccustomed features in entry-level SUVs"

Kelley Blue Book predicts that the Seltos' price will be between the Soul and the Sportage which makes sense. It should be around the same price as the Venue.

While pricing has yet to be announced, we expect the new Seltos to start under $20,000. For reference, the Kia Soul starts at $17,490, while the larger Sportage starts at $23,990.

Actually the Venue is much smaller than the Seltos so pricing will not be similar. The Kona would be closer, but it is still smaller than the Seltos so still not the best one to guess pricing with.
A better comparison is with the Mazda CX-30 which is about the same size. Interestingly the base FWD CX-30 starts at $21,900 so I can see Kia getting by with saying it will be under $22,000 and pricing it the same for it's FWD 'S' version.

I am sincerely hoping I am wrong and it will start cheaper than that....but I think that is what we will see.

.

Also in my experience, the dealers seem to be the last to know anything until after the cars actually arrive at dealers. I have figured out how to use cargurus.com to find out before it is general knowledge at the dealers. (no information so far). :)

When Kia itself says in their unveiling that it will be under $22,000 to start, I am inclined to believe something close to that. The Venue is 13" shorter than the Seltos so an entirely different segment. I have seen the Venue at the dealers and it is nice, but very small at 159" long.

I don't know how KBB arrived at that guess, but it is not realistic.
Here is some typical pricing on the Venue......

Oddly enough Hyundai does not have their Build and Buy function up yet on the Venue when dealers across the country have some in their lots.

Great link from Car Gurus @bicepeak. I think the CX-30 is going to the biggest competitor for the Seltos so it's definitely a good comparable in terms of price.

Agree the price will fall between the Soul and the Sportage, but it will not be the same price as the Venue. The Venue is much smaller and not in the same segment.
Kia is close to revealing the Qyi, which is it's version of the Venue. No word on which markets it will be sold in.

I think I would have died and gone to heaven if the Seltos sold for the Venue price. :)

I am anxious to see what pricing will be in the US, but I think we can make an accurate guess, especially at the entry level. Kia says the LX and S will start under 22,000 so I think it is a safe bet they price it like the Mazda CX-30 at 21,900. (Mazda CX-30 is direct competitor size wise). It will another thousand for delivery fee.

Now I just need them to get to the dealer so I sit inside one!
