Kia has announced that the Seltos will arrive on the showroom floor on October 25th in Australia. It will have a starting price of $25,990 AUD ($17,737 USD) and the GT Line will cost $41,990 ($28,656 USD).

Local buyers will be able to purchase the Seltos in either S, Sport, Sport+, and GT Line guises. Both the S, Sport, and Sport+ front-wheel drive models feature a 2.0-liter four-cylinder MPI Atkinson cycle engine that produces 147 hp (110 kW) and 132 lb-ft (180 Nm) of torque.

Further up in the range are the Sport+ and GT Line models with all-wheel drive and a 1.6T-GDI engine mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. These models have 174 hp (130 kW) and 195 lb-ft (265 Nm) of torque.

Prices for the Kia Seltos S start at AU$25,990 and rise to AU$41,990 for the range-topping GT Line. Kia will offer a AU$1,000 safety pack for the S and Sport models. This pack includes autonomous emergency braking, Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Driver Attention Alert+, electronic parking brake, electric folding mirrors, auto up and down driver’s window, and 15-inch rear disc brakes.

The standard color for the range is Starbright Yellow while premium colors including Neptune Blue, Gravity Grey, Mars Orange, Snow White Pearl, Steel Grey, and Cherry Black come at a $520 premium.

“There has been a space in our product line-up for this car for longer than we would have ideally liked,” Kia Motors Australia chief operating officer Damien Meredith admitted. “However, despite being a little late to the party we are confident that the Seltos is the right car for the market and has the potential to be the belle of the ball.”

The starting price for the Kia Seltos makes it AU$6,000 more expensive than the smaller Venue from sister company Hyundai that also recently launched.

Would be nice if that conversion to US dollars held true, but alas it won't be as low as $17,737 in the US. :(

Yeah sadly that's just wishful thinking. It's probably going to be around $20k in the US.
in their initial press release for the US they stated:
"While complete pricing will be available closer to the Seltos’ on-sale date, the LX AWD will have a starting price below $22,000 and the S FWD will have a similar starting price."

Yeah I would bet it's going to be 21900 to start.....plus destination.....just like the Mazda CX-30.
