This morning got into my Seltos SX and I wanted to change the radio station. I pushed RADIO and nothing happened. I then pushed Mode button on my steering wheel and Nothing happened. I then pushed the NAV button on the Display Infotainment center and nothing happened. I was locked out of the Entire Infotainment/Setup/NAV unit. None of the buttons where working. The car did drive normally and ventilation system buttons where working. I called KIA customer support (UVO) and I got some guy on the other side of the planet explaining to me that I didn't have the UVO "Ultimate" service package. I only had the "standard" or lower level service. I told him this was BS. Why would it lock me out completely from all settings? The idiot insisted that I need to UPGRADE to the Ultimate UVO ($199/year) in order for it to work. I concluded he was truly an AS*&%le and hung up.
I called again and this time the UVO person seemed to know exactly what was the issue. He immediately asked me if I had anything currently plugged into the UBD socket under the dash. I told him I did, my Dashcam Video camera. He said they had reports of the UBD was interfering with the operation of the INFOTAINMENT center. I really didn't want to unplug it since I've been using it since I purchased the car with no problems for about 1 1/2 yr. He then asked me to try Resetting the Info. system. There's a small "RESET" hole/button on the right side of volume knob. Seem to work. I haven't had any problems with it since.
Has anyone else had similar problem?
