Interestingly enough, when I upsized my tires to the 245/45R18 the dash economy meter is now much closer to what gets calculated on my Road Trip app.You can't trust the numbers the dash reads you. I don't think that's unusual in any car, but my Seltos is WAY out. I reset my trip meter for every tank and record the data. It's a work vehicle. It's something we do.
My last fill-up was 44.282l for 502.8 Kilometers. I do a lot of sitting in my vehicle so my mileage isn't great. My last 'Monthly Health Report' from Kia's myuvo claims the engine on time at 80h50m with the drive time being 57h11m. I do frequently sit in my car responding to emails or waiting on clients, but I ASSURE you there is no way I spent 23 hours idling last month.
Regardless the dash claimed mileage as 7.9l/100km.
But, and someone check my math cause I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, 44.282l / 5.028 is 8.8l/100km.
Claimed: 7.9l/100km = 30.55 MPG
Actual: 8.8l/100km = 26.73 MPG
Now I don't think a car's calculation is all that unusual being out somewhat. My last car was always out too. It was out in the other direction though, claiming 10l/100km when it was really about 9.2-9.8 month to month.
But the KIA calculation, for me, is out by10%.
So I have another tank I had kept track of. Looks like a trend. Two consecutive tanks, the one above and now this one. By 'claimed' I'm refering to what the trip meter on the dash reports.Claimed: 7.9l/100km = 30.55 MPG
Actual: 8.8l/100km = 26.73 MPG
