Anyone one upped the tire size to this on their Seltos?
Works out to 1" difference in tire height overall and 3.8% difference in diameter so minor offset on the speedo (4 km/h @110).
We factory ordered a new Seltos SX today, but first step will be to swap out the OEM's for a good All-weather tire ( probably Michelin Crossclimate2's). The slightly taller height should help with ride comfort.

I bought a 2021 SX turbo and swapped out factory tires for matching Cross Climate 2s 235-45-18 and they have work great, especially in snow here in CT.

I've been looking at the CrossClimate2's to swap on out of the box. (I always do an all-weather tire install on new vehicles...no room for winter tire storage). It is down to those or the new Nokian Outpost APT.
Did you play with the CC2's in the snow at all this winter, thoughts?

Consumer Reports claim they are the best 3 Climate tires they have ever tested. Reason I got them.

Awesome, thanks!
You got the stock size, right? How is the ride with those, any stiffer, softer, or about the same?
One of my primary concerns was with the stock (fairly low) profile tires I'd have issues with ride quality and bent wheels on our lovingly maintained streets here in Saskatoon...

Connecticut has some crappy roads after winter, pot holes were a bumper crop this year. But they were great in the snow and great in heavy rain plus hard enough of a compound to last in warm weather. Ride wise I see no difference, noise wise just a pinch more road noise. The factory all seasons were a bit quieter. They are not reasonably priced any more. I got them for $189. a piece. US dollars. here they are now up to $245. a piece. I have over 20,000 miles on them..

I'm coming in a bit late on this, but you might see it. My Seltos seems to have a factory set 4kph over-read of 4kph, so at 100km it is only actually doing 96. I am wondering if when you swapped the Kumhos 235/45/18s for the 135/50/18s, this speed error was corrected..? If so, then that's not a bad thing. I suspect all ex-factory Kias are set to over-read by about 4kph, and it appears consistent through the speed range, whereas our previous car, and Outback over-read by 10%, and so to do say, 60kph you have to have 66kph, on the dial, and so on up to needing 110 to be doing an actual 100. Mazdas have a preset over-read of 2kph motoring journos have said in reviews. How did your speeds check out, as if it did correct the speedo to the true speed, I might consider going for the slightly higher tyre wall with the 235/50/18s myself..?

In the end I went with a 245/45R18, which is only a 1.5% upsize.
speedo readings seem to be pretty bang on and any live speed displays on the street match exactly what is being displayed on the HUD now.

pics and specs in this thread, but I guess you have already seen that since you posted in it…lol:

Speedtek, on the issue of speed, and speedo accuracy. There's a neat speedo app called Speedometer 55, available for beggar-all from the app store, which allows you to check your speed properly. Those highway/roadworks happy face speed warning signs are often a bit out - or affected by other close traffic, and of course the built in nav is not going to tell you your car's speedo is out by x no of kms. From memory, the Google and Apple map/nav apps also do not display the GPS speeds either.

I think the Tom Tom and Navman GPS apps do, but they are quite expensive, and basically would just be duplicating what your car already has.
Interesting that the 245/45/R18 tyre size corrects the speed discrepancy. Be worth checking with that speedo app I mentioned. It still appears to be supported and up to date.

I'm on 235/50 Viking Contact's. @60mph it looks to be 2mph slow vs google speedo. So 60 indicated is 62mph.

Have to be careful going wider. Full droop even 235's come close to rubbing the shock covers and the fuel tank filler tube cover.
I run 245/45R18's...no rub, no issues.

That speed suggests the 235/45/R18s would just about correct perfectly for the 4kph over-read that appears to be a constant built-in factory error. Why I say that is at a true GPS 100kph, my car is only doing 96, and this 4kph error is constant right through the speed range. Roadside radar confirms the same, and motoring journos also found the same. If you are saying that the 235/50s mean it is now under-reading, so an indicated 60mph = 62, then the 245/45% tyre wall should be about right...right..?

As your tyre has only a slightly higher sidewall, and the width is standard, I'd be surprised if rubbing anywhere would be an issue..? Especially as Speed's tyres being 245/45s have no rubbing issues.
