I’ve had my 2021 EX model just under 3 months and on a recent trip I noticed when driving normally my rpm would be between 1800-2200 but when I set the cruise control it would jump to 3000-3500+ rpm and not go back down. I was driving at 70 mph and thought speed had something to do with it so I tried dropping down to 45 mph but it did the same thing no matter the speed. I was in South Florida at the time so the road was about as flat as it could get. My 2019 forte would only raise rpm if I was driving on hills or passing someone, other than that it stayed pretty consistent around 2000 rpm while on cruise control. Is this normal for a Seltos have high rpm while using cruise control? Do I need to take it into the dealership?

Please let us know what you find out.... A number of posts here re the IVT transmission. I have the dual clutch...not sure if that is more reliable or now, unfortunately. Hope so, though!

Have had our Seltos in multiple times for this issue. Most recently had to have transmission replaced due to recall. Was told this would fix the problem of the cruise control revving. It didn't. Took it back in. No codes. Went on test drive with service manager. Vehicle rpm's up to 3500 to 4000 each time cruise set no matter what the speed was set for 30, 45, 55, 65, 70. And, actually at 65 and 70 had it rev up and the speed on the speedometer go up 5 mph in a "slingshot" motion before shutting the cruise off. No idea how high the speed might have gone. Service manager agreed this was not normal and KIA to get involved. Vehicle is a 21 EX. What was your reso!ution?
