6,000 miles already! 2021 SX turbo.

After my 3,600 round trip, UVO reminded me that my Seltos is due for the 6,000 mile service and urged me to make a service appointment. Note that before I started my trip, I took it in for my free oil/filter change. Could the technician who serviced my Seltos have forgotten to reset the service counter in the computer?

Has anyone here passed the 6,000 mile mark already? Did you go for a the scheduled service?

The maintenance schedule chart of the 1.6L turbo in the owners manual, for 6,000 miles, fuel additive must be added. It says additive is available at the KIA dealer. Does anyone know what additive this is? It farther says Not to mix “other” additives! Can Seafoam be a good additive for the turbo?
From what I've seen there's far better products out there than seafoam. You'll be better off with CRC GDI IVD cleaner since it has PEA, something seafoam doesn't have. As for fuel additive I don't know the name but fuel already has cleaning additives in it.

I would recommend installing an oil catch can or using the CRC cleaner since you have a GDI engine, the catch can being the best option.

I am quickly approaching the 30,000 mile mark after a year ownership. Service has been done at the dealer. At the 18,000 mile service they forgot to reset the counter. Attempting to reset via the app or the settings on the car pushed it to the 30,000 service. When I took the Seltos in for the 24,000 service, made sure to remind them to reset. OF course when I got the Seltos back, the mileage on the service record said 74,000! Go figure.
I reset mine this morning because when I called service about the service reminder popping up on me, the service adviser said that they forgot to reset the maintenance reminder item in the settings when I went for my first service before I took the long drive. After the reset, the computer says my next service is at 18,000 miles.

I have driven 20K miles in 6-7 months in Florida. I have the oil changes and tires rotated every 5K miles (my choice) The dealer does the scheduled maintenance except engine air filter and cabin air filter (do it myself). The dealer, 30 miles away, does my oil changes. They take care of any TSBs while I'm there.

The 2021 Seltos maintenance reminder for oil and filter change is set from factory for 7,000/7 months and according to my dealer can’t be changed to what I go by 3,000 / 3 months.

Additive is "suggested" (not required) if you are not using top tier gasoline. My dealer, and many others, use B&G products. If you add your own and cannot get B&G (the best) Royal Purple is a close second. Lucas third. Google, best injector cleaners.

How did you reset yours? I can't figure out how to do it and my dealership says they're the only ones who can.
There are ways to reset service intervals in the on screen menus. I use B&G Fuel/injector cleaner in my Seltos SX Turbo at every oil change (not from dealer). I did with my 2017 Sportage and 2009 Santa Fe also. I also use Top Tier gas.

Do you mind posting a picture of your on screen menus? Mine are greyed out.

No additive is really necessary if you use Top Tier gas. However, I use B&G products after I return from the dealer getting an oil change. My dealer uses B&G but it's triple the price than I can get it for.

I can but it will be a while. I'm on a business trip right now (rented car) for 2 weeks, 3,000 miles from home

Thank you!
I know this is an older thread, but I found it searching for an answer before I posted the exact same question.

FWIW, I've been getting the Service Reminder (or Service Overdue, or whatever) popup for the past five months. I found the Service Reminder reset going through the menus, and I hit "reset" and it says it's been reset, but it still comes on first startup of the day. It's now showing something like 142 days overdue. I'll have had the car a year next month and it has about 7k miles on it, so it must be triggered based on time or miles.

One more thing I'll ask the dealer about when I get my new correct oil filler cap and inspection sticker in a couple of weeks.
