Shame. I was hoping this update would include wireless Apple CarPlay.

Me too... Definitely not updating it anytime soon! :( Shame on you Kia USA!!!
Has anyone using Android Auto updated yet? Curious if full screen and high-res is working

Well, that's disappointing.

Nothing in there that we've been hanging out for - like return of the three widget screen.

Well I decided to do update, I held back in fear that I wouldn't like new format. I guess to each his own but quite frankly I rather like it.

Latest update - very disappointing. No wireless for Carplay or Android Auto, no widescreen for Android Auto. Radio interface is still awful. No ability to customize colors and of course no triple screens.

Thanks for listening Kia/Hyundai!
The US site for grins:

Yes, not an ground shaking update.... I'll give it a try though.... Nothing to lose since I did the Nov update.

Looks like there is a new updater version - I uninstalled the old 1.0.49.1 and installed the new 1.0.58.1....Assume that is worth the time.....

Did the update successfully today - here are some notes in case they help, including some tips I've picked up. Not many s/w changes at all but at least you get the updated maps for the Seltos "Standard Class Gen 5W" radio.
  • Used update.kia.com - this new update (NAM 14.41... for the US maps) doesn't seem to show on mapnsoft.com yet. The Notifications section at update.kia.com shows you what is changing.
    • The Navigation Updates has the updater to download to your PC - I noticed there is a new Updater version so I uninstalled the old 1.0.49.1 on my PC and installed the new 1.0.58.1. Not sure if important.
    • This section also shows the cars and what they are updated to, e.g., for Seltos:
      775
      774
  • Use the Updater app on your PC to download the new update first to your PC - it will let you specify where to put the update files, e.g., xxx\Downloads. Took about an hour to download it at about 7 MB/sec. The Updater program then prompts you to copy it to your USB drive and includes formatting the USB drive as part of the copy (FAT32 / 32 kilobyte / 'Quick'). Copying it to the USB took about another 30 minutes. Don't forget to 'eject' the USB when the copy is done. Apparently this two step copy, first to your PC's hard drive, then to the USB, is the least problematic...

  • I've read that turning off the Bluetooth on your phone or any others that the system will contact (it connects with my wife's phone when she is inside the house!) is best practice.

  • Start the car and insert the USB with the new update. This time I got a "Start Update?" screen immediately and didn't have to drill down to find the 'update' button in Setup / General / SW Info. It took about 40-45 minutes for the complete update and 'restoring data' part, etc. I missed the first prompt about the car shutting off in 30 minutes and only caught it at the 1 min warning! Be aware!

  • I checked FM, Sirius, USB music and Bluetooth Music (turn your Bluetooth back on) - everything seemed to work (it remembers all the stations, etc.) but it did change my car to liters and kilometers per hour...?? Fix that in General Settings / Units.
Here are some screen shots of AFTER this April update - Software Version and Map Version fields show the new updates which match the Navigation Updates section at update.kia.com:

The Purple Wasteland (but it calms my wife down). Very few changes. When I just fired the car up I got this update screen - that's new - clicked Detail and get these screens which summarize the few changes made... Not sure what the "Soundhound" stuff is - you can already do a lot by voice command...? The Purple Wasteland screes are also shown...

Just checked the AU software and the April update isn't available yet. The installer has updated though so, maybe, soon?

The color shade is still not my taste. I will skip this update.
Farted around with the new update yesterday - here are my findings (see entry above for a summary of the updates you can see after you make the update):

- Maps does have a "Cancel Route" button now - long press it to "Pause Route" (not real intuitive). If you don't see the Cancel Route button, tap on the map and it appears.

- You can long press on the map and get options now to set that point on the map as your destination, report an accident etc (??) and save that location to your list of places.... I guess if you could really press on the exact location that would help but this has escaped usefulness to me....?

- I couldn't find where to switch the 'zoom map' function from the tuning knob to the vol knob, but it was a good reminder that using the tuning knob (or volume knob if you can find where to change it) is much faster and safer to zoom in/out than using the + and - buttons on the map....

- I noticed the Link Bluetooth Device field had been removed in Driver Profiles, I think for both my wife and my profiles. Click on the right arrow and choose from the list of phones....?? Picture below.

- Previously I had a problem sending a text from voice prompt ("Send text to Julie I am on my way home") - everytime the first text would fail, and you would have to go to Phone and tap the icon of messages, tap the message and resend it - it would always work the second time. I tested a few times and now it seems to work even the first time...hurray. That is a nice safety feature...

- The thing I was most interested in was "Soundhound" now being available to us peons. I googled it etc. Here is the text I wrote to Kia asking more info about it. It has, I think, increased the questions you can ask of the car. Certainly not like Google Assistant though....
The update mentions "Soundhound" being available, but gives few details. From what I researched and tested, I can press the Push to Talk button on the steering wheel and ask it a limited set of questions - about Sports, Weather, Stocks and Navigation. I could NOT ask it like with Google, "What is the president's middle name?"
Questions I could ask:
"When is the Denver Nuggets next game?"
"Will it snow tomorrow?"
"How did IBM stock do today?"

"Navigate to 1380 Tulip St. Longmont Colorado."

Please write an entry if you leavn any new stuff from this update!

P.S. It seems to me that logging on to the Kia App and websites have been terribly slow again.......

I updated to that new sotware version but I can't find where to enable that new "Soundhound" voice recognition. I tried some new commands and nothing. Don't see that "Power by Houndify" either. Help or direction from anyone would greatly appreciated.
(P.S. I'm only talking about the US update...who knows what other country differences are!)

Nothing to enable...it should be part of the new update - do you see the same version numbers as in the screen shots above? Here is what I get when I ask "How did IBM Stock do yesterday?" - notice the "Powered By Houndify". I did come across a help screen for these new voice commands... I've included those below as well... Looks like you can ask questions just those 4 categories

thanks for reply... my versionis the same but instead "US" I have "CAN". Wonder now if version for Canada is differet.... again 😕
Right - answering that question may be impossible... Well, you generally get a LOT more features on the car than we get in the US!

On another note, the Kia Access app UVO developers got back to me (I updated my 'review' in the Google Play Store yesterday) - they said the problems from yesterday were fixed and indeed the app seems to be working better now.
Just FYI... pictures with Canadian version of software

You're right, everything is identical except "can" versus "usa". What happens when you push the talk button on the steering wheel and say "how did IBM stock do yesterday?"
