Hi,

My seltos (HTK+ Petrol) is10 days old. Since first day I noticed issue while i dial to someone using apple carplay, the far party (person listening to me) hear echo of his voice.If i unplug the cable and speak on Bluetooth it is clear.
Issue i see is with carplay + KIA infotainment system.
I tried reducing the volume, disable by data(Voice LTE) settings, tried other network(Airtel, JIO), another phone... nothing helped.

Not sure if the same case for others.

Any solution to this, please share. Thanks in Advance

I can't speak to your specific problem, but I sometimes experience the echo of my own voice when using the cell phone apart from my car. So it may not be related to your car and be more the function of the phone on that day. I am not sure why it does that, but I know voice transmission always has a slight delay before arriving. So it could be his microphone or yours is catching that delayed voice somehow and "playing" it after you, or he, speaks. Also since the car phone is basically a speaker phone, it is easier for the microphones to pick up that delayed voice.

I am not a tech geek, so maybe someone more knowledgeable can explain this.

Your analysis could be right, but there is noise cancellation which should take care of those issues.

CarPlay echo issue

Hi, In my Carens 2017, I have Apple CarPlay... However, when phoning, person on the phone hears an echo. Apparently the problem can be solved by software update. Is it possible to do this update on my own or do I have to go back to the garage to let them to it?

Hello Guys
I am new to this forum . My Kia Seltos HTX is just a week old . I noticed the same issue .
ISSUE :
In car handsfree via Kia Infotainment , the person whom i am talking to hears his own voice after a small delay , echo ..I tried with different phones and network,,,,,,,the issue remains.
I took the car to service center today . They checked my car , tried factory resetting the Infotainment but didnt work .
They checked other new model cars which are delivered in the month of June 2020 and new cars which were supposed to be delivered . The issue is present in all new cars with The software versions 5.3 after updation
Supposedly, this issue wasnt present in earlier versions and models.
THey have made a note of this problem and the concerned Vendor which makes software for Kia ( Forgot the name !! ) will be contacted.
They are hoping it would be a software fix .
Lets see !!!

The issue is with Car Infotainment system .
I have got my car checked today itself and Kia has agreed this to be an issue with all the newly delivered cars.
They are checking it with the superiors for a solution .
I should know it by a day or two . Lets see

UPDATE : For my dear fellow Kia owners
Kia accepted this issue to be a software bug
A firmware update was installed today in my infotainment system .....5 Minutes job .....And Bingo .........It works perfect
Guys please contact your Kia service station and this issue resolved .
Really impressed by the promptness of Kia and their action regarding this .

Yes this is an issue that came up after my 2nd service around Oct 20
