Connection to Apple CarPlay

We purchased a 2021 Kia seltos back in October. From the first week in we have been having “connectivity” issues with Apple CarPlay. It disconnects constantly stating it “doesn’t recognize USB port” and will reconnect again over and over. Yup, I have a compatible USB port. Yup, I’ve had it serviced at KIA to tell me that they are aware of the issue and are “awaiting info on a software update.” I’ve waited another 2 months and called again “with still no update”-I travel for work and using maps that constantly disconnect is more than problematic at this point. Any advice

Never any issues with mine... Maybe your phone. Plug in a different one

Ive been having the same issues with mine a 2021 white LX Model, the basic one, although mi iPhone connects via Bluetooth and Wifi to the screen, and still presents disconnects several times a day, no upgrade on software yet from dealership
never had an issue with mine. works much better than the Honda i had. try a different lightening cable and see if that makes a difference. i had a wore out cable that frequently disconnected
I haven’t had issue - works better than other vehicles I’ve had.
Wondering, rather than waiting for Dealership, have you done your own update through the Kia computer software?

The last time I had contacted the dealer a week ago they didn’t mention anything about doing my own update? Do you know how I could go about this?

I followed links from the Kia website. And you can download map software for your computer. It updates maps and the software on the car via USB
Yea I had the same issue. It comes and goes . Also. When i get out of the car and hit the lock/unlock button, it does absolutely nothing.

I have just purchased a KIA Seltos and I am having the same problem
The dealer says I am not the only one with this problem
I have had this sporadically, but also on my old Forte.
I suggest trying a different cable. It has been successful for me.

Definitely switch cables. I had this problem until I started using OEM cables.

Apple tax sucks, but I would just buy the shortest (3’?) Apple-brand USB-to-lightning cable and keep it in the car. All my favorite cables hardly work in the Seltos

same with me, I have HTK+, i have raised this to Kia multiple time.....they are supplying outdated software and their AVNT supplier does not have latest version whcih can support all IOS versions, always they say we are working on it and at last they blame the IOS update, I am already in discussion to raise legal complaint as they are unable to provide solution since last 8+ month.... they are just starching the matter....by this way they can not claim their system is apple car play supported in actual it is having many issues ... best way to raise legal complaint for supplying outdated non supportive AVNT system.

After updating the iOS version (iOS 16.1), I can no longer connect CarPlay on my Kia Seltos
Have you encountered this type of problem?
According to Apple support, you have to check with the manufacturer if there is an update to the infotainment system of the car, except that the people at CityCars say that there is not and that it is still on the same version that has existed since the car purchase (2021)
No issue for me after updating to 16.1. Maybe a cable issue ? Or check in CarPlay in Settings and make sure "Allow CarPlay While Locked" is on.
