Has anyone else been effected by the Seltos engine recall? I got a recall notice that due to faulty piston rings I need to have my engine replaced. Kia is going to cover the replacement and the loaner but I’m not expected to have my car back until JULY! I’ve only had the car 6 months and I don’t know if I should wait for the replacement or trade it in and get a new car. It’s a used 2021 with about 17k miles. Anyone have experience with this?

Yes, I actually had a knocking sound coming from my engine before my 2021 LX was a year old. However, at that time the Recall was not officially out yet and the verdict was I had "metal in the oil". End result, replacement engine installed. Come to find out 4 months later the Recall was official so had to get the replacement engine checked as well after the recall was out, luckily that one had no issues.... They had my car for out a month and a half. I would recommend replacing it, I have had no problems since. Just my opinion. If you try to trade it, they might run the VIN and see the engine is recalled then may not give you a good trade. Your call.
