I live in NYC and drive a blue Seltos EX! I also frequently see another one of the same color (S trim) in my neighborhood, and have seen a few white and silver ones in Brooklyn

Thank you for your comment about seeing the Seltos in NYC and Brooklyn. At this point it is nice to see and know other Seltos are on the roadways being that it’s a new vehicle. It made me a little hesitant not seeing any. I am between the Mazda CX-30 and Seltos. Are you happy with the Seltos EX? Enjoy it.

Well, maybe the reason is that the transmission goes out at about 3000 to 5000 miles and there are NO replacements available in the country! I waited 8 weeks for mine! Google “2021 Kia deltoid transmission “ if you don’t believe me .

I was between those two (and a couple others actually) myself. I am absolutely beyond happy with my Seltos. It’s comfortable, drives well, and has a really pleasant interior. The infotainment system works perfectly. My literal only complaint is that there is no glovebox lock, but that only matters to me because I use valet parking garages a lot in Manhattan.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did google that as you mentioned. Transmission issues did come up but not that exact situation. Do you have a link? Also, do you own a Seltos and waited 8 weeks for transmission to be fixed? If that’s the case, how is it now and which Seltos do you own? Good luck.

Glad to hear you are so satisfied with the Seltos EX. I get the glovebox is a concern in NYC garages for sure. Maybe put some personal items in the well where the spare is. I do realize that’s not so convenient but some semi valuable items could be stored there? Regarding the infotainment my concern is using my existing XM account with it via data instead of satellite as that’s how it is done if I understand it correctly. I have read that the phone should be connected via usb to it. Do you use XM and how is that worked out for you? Lastly other than Cx-30 what other vehicles did you consider? Very much appreciate the feedback as I am casually looking. Also saw an awesome black Ford Bronco. I’m all over the place.

I don’t use XM at all but have used various cellular data based services so far. All have worked fine with the Wireless Apple CarPlay.

I also looked at the Nissan Rogue Sport (didn’t like the infotainment system, but it drives well. My aunt owns one), Lexus UX F Sport (loved it but insurance was too high), Hyundai Venue (felt too small for me), Subaru Forester (loved it but we already have a Subaru and wanted something else) and Kia Sportage (tiny but bigger but much less bang for your buck than the Seltos)

Yes I have a Seltos S. Yes I waited 8 weeks to get the tranny replaced. There is a computer upgrade they we’re supposed to do before releasing it for sale. Obviously it was not done on mine.

Wow. That is just awful. I hope with the transmission fixed you now are in the clear able to enjoy your Seltos.
thank you for the link. I would think for 8 weeks Kia needed to provide a loaner or cover a rental. With this corrected, maybe you will be happy going forward. Again, thanks for the heads up.

tpin21, may I ask you how did you managed to get wireless apple car play? I thought it was only wired. I have a 2021 SX and have always used the usb cable to use apple car play. thanks a lot

Wireless Carplay came with my S model. It's just an option you have to add.

Yes, I was just lucky that the model S that I purchased had some upgrades that they had added. I mean I paid for them but I'm glad they were already added. Wireless Carplay, remote start and Lane Keep Assist was added to my model.

I thought it was only wired too. When I signed the papers, the salesman went to show me how to connect my phone... I didn’t have my wire on me so he showed me how to use the regular bluetooth. Lo and behold the CarPlay connected without a wire! Maybe it’s a freak accident. I’m not complaining lol
