Head Unit Update - Apple Car Play

The Dealer just updated my headunit and now apple carplay only connects via Wifi - where it used to connect with usb cable - now playing music has a lag when switching songs. Does anyone know if doing a hard factory reset removes the software updates and restores back to previous software version

No, hard reset doesn’t revert. You could try reflashing the previous version. I have a feeling it might refuse the earlier version but it’s worth a try.

I would try removing the car from your phones CarPlay settings and hard resetting the car itself - this is always a good starting point in troubleshooting.
thank you - when you say hard resetting pressing the reset button on the car radio system - even tried a different phone and it disconnected for a few seconds on that phone as well - seems the wireless car play just keep loosing conneciton with the phone from time to time and you have to click ok to reconnect
Update - did do a factory reset on the head unit - and it did not disconnect for the 30-45 min drive we did - keeping fingers cross - considering it disconnected three times just prior to the reset

I am amazed the way people accept or not accept the factory settings and the way the vehicle is built. Apparently no matter what the vehicle comes with, it isn't perfect and people want to change it. If you are unhappy, and I AM NOT directing this to L Peep, either accept it for what it is or change vehicles. I would hate to be a customer service rep for a car company.

I haven't found the perfect vehicle. But, my SX is the closest thing I have found that suits my needs. Yes, there are things I don't like about it, buy I will just deal with it.

I hope I haven't offended anyone.
