Mines all good. Much better than the clown car bip bip my previous ride had.
Im glad now I had to wait for mine after hearing about issues with earlier builds. Hopefully they are sorted. The Transmission Cvt/Ivt one im glad I missed out on. Mines an end of July build.
Doesn't help answering that mines good but it just sucks when nobody answers a post. :)

Has anyone else had an issue with the horn not working when pressed? I haven't experienced it yet myself, but we have had 2 now come in with the horn inoperative..
Yes. A few weeks ago, when I got into the vehicle, the horn blew - I thought I accidentally hit the panic button, so frantically hit other buttons on the fob. It stoped, I put key in ignition and drove off. I noticed there was not horn when I locked the car - just assumed I only hit it once. Later that day, I tried to use the horn and got nothing. Tried several times since, and there is no operative horn. I haven't contacted the dealership yet, as I can't get away from work to get it there. Was also hoping to find a possible fix online. Any thoughts??

Hi, mines an end of July build 2021 model. Its absolutely problem ridden. Sometimes the Trans wont engage reverse or drive, sometimes it wont start as if there is no fuel getting through, have a headlight adjuster that does nothing, back seats rattle like mad and I fixed it myself with a leather tape. And Kia dealer did a code check and said that none showed and until they do they can't do anything about it. I feel like putting a sign on the back window saying "this cars a lemon dont buy a Seltos".

Wait if yours DOESN’T sound like a clown car horn, maybe there’s something wrong with mine? I’ve honestly considered buying an aftermarket horn - mine is laughable

Yep it is driving me mad. I think I have figured out the non start issue. Here in Australia our hot weather has hit, where I am. Each time after thinking I had gone fishing or metal detecting in the bush. Our trees where we are are notorious for dropping limbs in hot weather so I always look up to make sure im not under one and park in the open. Doing that you then park in full sun. 2 things with our gum trees, 1 they can drop a good live limb in hit weather or 2 if they are in flower they drip gum like resin that sticks to your car paint and wont budge. So I park in the open. Had a car that I yrs ago parked under one flowering and it was an absolute nightmare with the resin drops all over it. So now its in the open. Did another open sun park in 34c the other day and guess what!? A very choking hard heeezing hard start. There is something with my car that dont like the heat starting. The no engage issue I heard this. There is some balance sensor that if it senses unbalance will not engage any gear to safeguard the Trans from damage. True or not I dont know but makes sense. Is going in to Kia within the next 2 weeks for a full go over. They say they may Reflash the Trans program to see if it clears it. Hope so as its bugging me off. Not every day but does it about 2 times each week and a half. Otherwise I really like how it drives but these issues really bug me bad and see lemons. Lets hope the Reflash or whatever clears it all. Will drop back in and give an update.
Cheers.

No, mine sounds no probs ok. I had previously a Nissan XTrail and seriously its horn was embarrassing! I hated even hitting it to warn in a bad traffic situation let alone say hi to someone I knew! It was ridiculous!
I heard though before buying the Seltos that some complained about the horn, even a motoring review writer here in Australia said it was lame. But mine sounds more old school horn type and was one of the first things I tried. I was happy to hear a good Honk instead of a beeep. But I still see complaints. Is there an issue with their making, some beeeep and some Honk!? I dont personally know but im no probs happy with mine, sounds good and loud old school. Like I had in a car 20 plus yrs ago here in Australia.

Yes! Just happened to me. I bought mine back in March, and we don't use horns much around here, so not sure when it actually stopped. But just yesterday went to engage, and nothing!
I know it worked, for I did use it before...
Time for a dealership visit!

I bought my car in March 2020 and then horn stopped working in July 2020, so the dealership replaced it. Now January 2021 it is going out again, it only works intermittently and when it does work it's extremely muffled. Literally sounds like it is honking from two roads over. So took it into the shop, I just got it back from the dealer, they replaced my horn for the second time. I was told it is due to the placement of the horn, it sits under the driver side headlamp and gets wet and/or freezes. They pretty much said next time it goes out I have to contact Kia directly.

Mine doesn't work either since Friday. I checked the fuses and they are ok. Have to bring it in I guess.

Agree, this horn is pathetic! replacing mine. I had a Prius laugh at mine.
Kinda funny you bumped this thread just now. I was just thinking the other day about how I still want to do this. Buuut my lease is up next July and I hardly ever use my horn.

PIAA makes a horn called the Superior Bass. It’s a dual-tone 330/400hz and it sounds great. Let’s see if links and link previews still work through Tapatalk:

Yeah that sound better. Like the type I had in my 1980s 1990s cars 👍

Mine just went out for the second time. Taking it in next week. It was replaced a year or so ago. Bought my seltos in March of 21 and has just under 20k miles.
As I have said elsewhere, I strongly suspect a lot of these weird intermittent electrical gremlins are grounding, (ie negative earthing to the body) issues. The horn is another thing, like wiper motors, grounded purely at the mounting to the body. Trying to loosen, then retighten, any mounting screws to these you can get at could be a really simple and cheap cure. Just sayin'...what's to lose..?
