India Today shared an interesting article that talks about whether or not the Seltos should be considered a SUV since it doesn't come with all-wheel drive in India.

With the boom in crossovers the definition of Sport Utility Vehicle has definitely changed. Personally I'm surprised when someone gets a crossover/SUV without all-wheel drive, but obviously it depends on where you live, like in India.

I'd still say the Seltos is a SUV but the article did get me thinking. What does everyone else think of this?

There is no commonly agreed definition of an SUV, and usage varies between countries. In many cases crossovers are referred to as SUVs. Nowadays any vehicle with a high ground clearance is referred to as an SUV.

crossovers aren't as boxy as SUV's if you really look at it and by that observation the Seltos is an SUV

It's the definition of what's a SUV has definitely blurred over the years.

That's very true, the Seltos is definitely more boxy compared to some of the other crossovers.
