The Seltos opened its first month in India by selling 6,200 units. They outsold companies like Ford, Volkswagen, Skoda, and Renault. This is pretty darn impressive and hopefully the sales continue to rise.

One of the main reasons why it's doing so well appears to that the Indian buyers really like all the features it comes with.

Why cars like Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos and MG Hector are beating the slowdown

While overall, the auto sector is slowing down, there are a pockets where the slowdown didn't seem to affect the sales. Newer, more technologically advanced cars seem to be beating whatever is happening in the auto market and coming out unscathed.

Kia sold 6,325 Seltos' in August making it the 4th highest selling vehicle in India.

Kia Motor India’s first product – the Seltos – has made a strong entry into the Top 5 UVs list in the first month of its launch. The Kia Seltos, which was officially launched in India on August 22, sold a total of 6,236 units last month, giving the company a Utility Vehicle market share of 1.72 percent. Kia Motors India, which got 6,046 bookings on a single day when online bookings opened on July 17, currently has over 35,000 bookings in hand and is aggressively driving production at its Anantapur plant to meet the surging demand for its first made-in-India product.

The Seltos is currently produced from two of Kia’s production facilities – in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, India, and in Gwangju, Korea – and has gone on sale in both countries last month. With 6,236 units sold in its first month of sale in India, the made-in-India Seltos has outsold the made-in-Korea Seltos, which saw retail sales of 6,109 units – a difference of 127 units.

In accordance with India's ever going affection towards SUV, the Seltos entered the much-sought-after segment last month with a competitive price tag of Rs 9.69 lakh.

It's funny you say that because Kia now has 50,000 bookings for the Seltos.

Inspite of so many sales & bookings still havent seen a single seltos on road. Have booked HTX 1.5 G MT without TD. Still waiting for the TD car to arrive at showrooms in Mumbai.

That's very true, I'd be curious to see how many deliveries have been made so far. How long have you been waiting for your Seltos @KPAAZ?

Have just booked it last week. My SA informed me waiting period for two months. Now lets see. If they will deliver me in December then I would prefer taking it in 2020.

I found this on Twitter the other day, I had no idea that booking for the MG Hector has been closed for the rest of 2019. Which is remarkable in contrast to Kia who keeps raking in bookings for the Seltos.

The sales numbers for October are in and Kia sold 12,800 Seltos'!
