Seltos deliveries are underway in South Korea with India expecting them by late August

First owner of the new Kia Seltos in the world, has taken delivery of the brand new SUV in South Korea. Launched earlier this month in South Korea, deliveries of the new Seltos have started. Price ranges from approx Rs 11.2 lakhs to Rs 15.4 lakhs.

In Korea, Seltos is offered with either 1.6 liter petrol or 1.6 liter diesel engine.Only DCT automatic transmission option is on offer. 2WD as well as 4WD is on offer. Seltos is a global SUV. It will next head to India, where the launch is scheduled to take place on 22nd August.
Kia Motors will opens its innings in India with the new Seltos SUV. Pre-bookings of the Kia Seltos have commenced from July 16, at a down payment of Rs.25,000. Kia Seltos enters the mid size SUV segment. It will be presented in two trim options of HT Line and GT Line and in 8 variants HT E, HT K, HT K+, HT X, HT X+, GT K, GT X and GT X+.

It was recently reported that the first product of the Kia Motors have so far bagged over 23,300 bookings. It is worth mentioning here that pre-bookings of Kia Seltos was started on July 16 for a token amount of Rs 25,000 and will continue until August 22. The mass production of the upcoming compact SUV has commenced at the company's manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Well, here’s a piece of good news for all the buyers of Kia Seltos. Kia Seltos deliveries will start on August 22, the day the compact SUV is launched in India. Yes, you read it right.

It is worth mentioning here that the automaker has currently set up 192 dealerships across 160 cities in India. All these dealerships of Kia Motors feature Kia's internet of things (IOT) theme or the Kia link App. It means that digital purchase and after sales services will be available at all Kia dealerships. Interesting, isn’t it?

I never realized that either, especially in 160 cities. But when you think about how big India is in population and size, it does start to make more sense.

Knowing we won't get the 1.5 Diesel. What do you think it will be instead? My thoughts so far is Kia can really make the case for a 1.4 Turbo. Its the lowest displacement to high power/torque and MPG ratio engine they can offer. AFAIK!`

2.0L MPI, the same one as used in the Soul & Forte, with an optional 1.6L Turbo similar to the power specs that are used on the current Kona for North America.

That sounds about right considering powertrains offered in vehicles similar to the Seltos.
