ECHO Occurs when using CarPlay to make or receive a call,
the other person (at opposite side) hears an echo of themselves on the line
I do not hear the echo at my end,
So I don’t always know when it occurs
This happens frequently (almost every call)
This issue has also happened with a Bluetooth connection to the same stereo...

I am using iPhone 7

It is not happening with my Fiat Linea, Honda Jazz (as I have 3 Cars)

Pls resolve

Actually I sometimes have this happen when just using my cellphone without being in my car.
I hear whatever I say repeated. Not sure what causes that but keep in mind there is a delay in actual voice transmission always. I think the echo is the delayed voice being picked up by the phone speaker and being re-sent.

Hello Guys
I am new to this forum . My Kia Seltos HTX is just a week old . I noticed the same issue .
ISSUE :
In car handsfree via Kia Infotainment , the person whom i am talking to hears his own voice after a small delay , echo ..I tried with different phones and network,,,,,,,the issue remains.
I took the car to service center today . They checked my car , tried factory resetting the Infotainment but didnt work .
They checked other new model cars which are delivered in the month of June 2020 and new cars which were supposed to be delivered . The issue is present in all new cars with The software versions 5.3 after updation
Supposedly, this issue wasnt present in earlier versions and models.
THey have made a note of this problem and the concerned Vendor which makes software for Kia ( Forgot the name !! ) will be contacted.
They are hoping it would be a software fix . This is a clear issue with the Car Infortainment and Not at all with phone of any of us !!!!!!!
Lets see !!!

UPDATE : For my dear fellow Kia owners
Kia accepted this issue to be a software bug
A firmware update was installed today in my infotainment system .....5 Minutes job .....And Bingo .........It works perfect .
Now there is no Echo problem ...
Guys please contact your Kia service station and this issue resolved .
Really impressed by the promptness of Kia and their action regarding this .

A firmware update was installed today in my infotainment system .....5 Minutes job .....And Bingo .........It works perfect .
Now there is no Echo problem ...
Guys please contact your Kia service station and this issue resolved .

Glad to hear you got the issue fixed. I use CarPlay and the phone quite frequently but didn't have issues with an echo.

Today was the 6000 mile service for the Seltos. Technician said there were some software updates were needed as well. I didn't go into details but one of the three updates involved the Infotainment center. Looks like Kia is aware of issues and has updates. Perhaps it is limited in nature so it hasn't been a recall. Either that or since it doesn't appear to be safety related maybe the software just gets updated when you bring the vehicle in for service.

Which version had they updated..??
I have done service yesterday only but service at Rajkot (Gujarat) had not done anything for the issue and it is same as before.
They are not accepting at all that this is happening

Hello
Its not upto their whims and fancies not to accept , its a very clear issue which has been accepted by Kia Motors , Noida . If they have any confusion , ask their service manager to call up Allied Kia , Noida ,UP . They will confirm the firmware version . The update is provided by Micom technologies whio make the software for their infotainment system( i dont seem to remember the version but it was different from what came with the car/ !! ) . They will have to do it dont worry . Just be persistent with them .
