Kia Seltos Transmission Options

I just heard the Seltos will launch globally with three transmission options and three engine options, with options varying by market. Don't expect the 1.6-liter diesel if you live in the U.S. like I do. Hyundai/Kia has continuously refused to sell us a diesel and will likely keep it that way. Good news if you're a fan of gasoline engine options like the 1.6 turbo and 2.0 non-turbo already offered in existing Kia models. They also come with the 7DCT transmission (ex. 1.6T Kia Soul) and CVT (ex. 2019 Forte). If you're reading this and are curious as to how the Seltos could perform, I suggest you go out and test those models.

Automatic Transmissions Options:

• Seven speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT)
• Six-speed automatic transmission (6AT)
• Continuously variable transmission (CVT)

Gasoline and Diesel Engine Options:

• 1.6-liter T-GDI turbocharged gasoline engine (174-hp)
• 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine (147-hp)
• 1.6-liter diesel engine (134-hp)
