Leaking windshield

Recently found out that my windshield has been leaking. Didn't notice it until after it was washed. Have been told by Kia Canada, that hand washing your car in considered to be "external forces " and may not be covered under warranty. I'm not a happy camper. I have only had this car 6-8 weeks. There was tree sap on it and that's why i had it washed. If hand washing your vehicle voids the warranty, i should have been told this. Very disappointed!!

I can understand that would be upsetting considering the manual recommends you wash your vehicle "Insects, tar, tree sap, bird droppings, industrial pollution and similar deposits can damage your vehicle's finish if not removed immediately. Even prompt washing with plain water may not completely remove all these deposits. A mild soap, safe for use on painted surfaces, may be used. After washing, rinse the vehicle thoroughly with lukewarm or cold water. Do not allow soap to dry on the finish. "

Windshield should not leak!!! Rain is an "external force" so are they saying a leaky windshield is normal? I'd contact the owner of the dealer or Kia directly. Obviously there is a manufacturing/installation issue.

That is a crock. If they do not take care of the problem, contact KIA on the 800 number. Also consider filing a complaint against the dealership
Update for everyone!! Kia Canada has told me that they will be more than happy to replace the seal but if the windshield cracks or breaks, i would be responsible to replace it. I went to the dealership yesterday, sat in a chair, took my coat off and said i wasn't leaving until this problem is resolved. According to Kia Canada, the dealership had to find a place that would guarantee the shield wouldn't break. That's not going to happen as there is a 50/50 chance, taking out the shield it will crack and NOONE will guarantee that it won't. The dealership has agreed to take the hit if it should crack or break. Thank you to London Airport Kia for your exceptional customer service and shame on Kia Canada for not standing behind your vehicle for what is so obvious a factory defect.

Congratulations. Sometimes there is a flaw in the manufacturing of a windshield just like any other part. Glad it wasn't to much of a hassle to get them to take care of it.

I don't understand the stupidity of some of these dealerships. Congrats on getting fix properly. I'd file a consumer complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau and also with KIA. No excuse for them not taking care of you.
