Car Blog India put together a list of problems that some owners are facing with their Kia Seltos.

I know some people on here have mentioned issues with theirs and hopefully Kia can fix them quickly.

Here's their list:

1. Overheating of Transmission

2. Delivery of a defective car

3. No response for an accident-affected car

4. Wrong Delivery Time Period

5. Low Gas Mileage

Delivery is big issue with KIA, I booked red Seltos HTX petrol Mt 1.5 on 14th of September now it has been over 2 months and the SE keeps stalling and giving vague statements like the company gives them heads up on what car they will bill them each day or the company has no HTX in production line currently. Pathetic

That's ridiculous, sorry to hear that @kapooraviral2. Have they given you a specific time that you can pick up your Seltos?

I've read this thread and all the problems seems to come from the DCT models. Mainly the gearbox problem. And as per them, they're working on the updates of the software and plus, maybe on the whole gearbox replacement. Any updates recently? Or rather. Any updates from the Manual Transmission model?

I really wish the US was getting the manual. :(
But the IVT seems to be getting good reviews so that is what I would pick if I were to buy a Seltos.

Are DCT heating issues resolved in 2020 delivered vehicles ?
We had a chassis SW update back in August(?). I’ve never experienced the heating issue so I can’t say if there’s a difference. But with new update programs and a new website, it seems like they’re on top of things. I haven’t seen a lot of complaints since the latest update.

If/when the complaints pop up in the forum or on the Facebook group, I would make sure to ask the owner about their SW version. It seems like a lot of people either don’t know that you can update it or can’t figure out the process. I’ve also seen that vehicles are often coming back from service without being updated by the dealer - leading people to believe that they’re on the latest version when they’re not.

What is the best way to update the SW yourself?

Don’t think we can do that, better to get it updated at service, however I see service people are not that knowledgeable

How to Update | Official Kia Motors Navigation Update WebsiteYou can absolutely update the software at home.

Use a 16 or 32gb flash drive, follow the online instructions, and use their desktop software. Just make sure you have selected United States as your region and have the correct vehicle selected - otherwise it will reject the update and you’ll have to start over.

The download takes a while so just make sure you keep the flash drive plugged in and the program running. Best to keep a laptop plugged into power.
