I checked my software version and it is more current than the April version. It’s release date is June 21, 2021! I only have two split screens now. The smaller screen on the right side is scrollable up or down to display digital time, compass, weather, media, etc.

Interesting… that is definitely a newer revision than what we’ve had available. I’ll check out the desktop software to confirm, though. Any change in the other interfaces? Radio or nav?

The screens have been that same way for us (single split-view screen on the right) since the November update I believe.. you must have been on the previous update from before then

Okay so I got the download started from the desktop app. Likely a “mild” update, but mid-cycle fixes are better than no fixes. Hopefully someone running Android Auto can take a look and see if the resolution and full screen problems were fixed?

Thanks for the heads up, firefox111

Before this update, I had the original pre-November 2020 software with three split screens, which I liked. But with the two splits, the Map is wider, and the smaller 2nd screen scrolls up or down to display different function. I’ll probably get used to this. No choice.

No, I can’t tell what the other interfaces, just the splits.

Action123, please update this thread whether or not your AA problem is fixed. Speaking of which, I wonder if my Apple CarPlay still has full screen. I have to check it out.

Update: CarPlay is still full screen. BTW in the Android Auto (and in Apple CarPlay) option there is a check box if you want split screen when using AA. If you leave it unchecked you will have full screen when using AA.

I just use my iPhone on there so I don’t use AA. But I know everyone with Android has had these problems and they weren’t fixed as of last update.. hopefully someone else can chime in

Have had my 2021 SX for 15 months now and haven't done any of the updates. I am not a fan of purple and I like the 3 splits on the screen. I really don't use navigation or either of the phone interfaces (ACP or AA), so I don't really need to update. Is there some other advantage to doing so?

Well, I’m used to it now. The purplish shade shows up on the menus only. Yes, it’s now split into 2. The 2/3 is on the left and the 1/3 is on the right. That 1/3 screen is scrollable up or down to your configured app - weather, media/audio, compass, etc. I always display the map and the Bluetooth audio on the right so I don’t see purplish shade all the time. One thing I notice is that it warns me now when there is traffic/sped camera! I still don’t like the KIA navigation. It’s useless to me. I use my Gamin for cross country trips, I use Google maps for local searches. Really, you don’t use navigation? What do you use when going on a road trip?

I have never used navigation, while driving, in any car! I am old, and old fashioned, and was raised during the paper map days. Consequently, when I am going somewhere that I have not been before, I look up how to get there before I leave and normally jot down the directions to follow. It's just my way, even in these high tech times. But, I do sometimes use Google Maps, on my phone, for local areas when I get there.
