NAVIGATION INSTALLATION

As a novace dummy, I have a question on what is being installed for the navigation. On the USB are we installing the: "NavigationUpdaterInstaller.exe" or are we double clicking the .exe file and saving it to the USB and installing it??? I tried the second and after 4 hours I stopped. I tried the first and it would not do anything. ANY help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks!

Install the Navigation Updater program onto your computer. When you open it, select your vehicle, and it’ll download a bunch of files. Copy ALL the files onto a blank USB (I think it has to be fat32 formatted). Then plug it in and update from the Nav Screen. It’ll offer slow and fast. In my experience fast will be about 20-25 minutes. Slow allows you to still drive, but it’ll take over an hour.
I downloaded it and there was a .exe file entitled "NavigationUpdaterInstaller.exe" . I ran this and there was a lot of files put on the USB. After 4 or so hours in the car it just kept going like it was installing but never stopped..
Take a look at this post and the links in it - see if this helps... I've done it a couple times and you can do it. This is, of course, only for the SX Turbo models with navigation.... DT

Dougt Good Information! A lot of people miss that you need a USB thumb drive of MINIMUM 32gb.

Yes, we need to make this as easy as possible for people, given their different tech backgrounds! I cleaned up my notes and re-pasted below - I need to keep them up to date for my own weary brain.

The .exe file is to run/load the program on your PC. After it loads, run the program. Select the proper info for your vehicle, put in a blank USB stick, hit go or select and it will load the appropriate files on the USB stick.

KIA really needs to clean their act on this mess. I had a Mazda which they had the easiest way to update using their own SD cards and they didn't charge you, not sure if that's the same now.
