Hi - when you press the UVO button on the ceiling or the PTT button on steering wheel, it still pops up the"Say the POI" screen but for the last several days after you give it the address etc I've been getting "No Network Response" screen below... It worked as recently as last week. If you stop you can use the screen to type in the info - but that stinks cp. to voice input. Pix below (yes, I'll clean my screen!)

I have a case in with Customer Service. Local dealer didn't want ot hear anything about it.

There is another thread about PTT voice commands not working as well at:
Help: “Preparing Voice Recognition… Please wait” but... There is also a recent post in a UK forum - voice recognition issue..

When did you buy your SXT? UVO has one year free trial. Has your free trial subscription ended? If not maybe a onboard cellular modem issue?

Technicians at KIA dealerships know nothing when it comes to IT issues. And they don’t have prepared update materials (USB drives with software updates) to do software updates. In my case with the”Prepairing voice recognition. Please wait…” issue, the first day I was at service to complain, the service manager fiddled with the Setup configurations and didn’t come up with a fix. So he scheduled me for an appointment in four days! I would think that this issue would be given a priority, but NO. I went there yesterday for the appointment and this time the assigned technician fiddled with the Setup and nothing. I told him to hook up with KIA support and ask for their help. After more than an hour, he was downloading the software update, per support’s recommendation. With their slow internet, it was taking a long time so I asked the service manager to make sure that the USB. flashdrive is ready with the update when I come back for the update of the head unit. It was finally done this morning. Everything works except that while I was driving away, I noticed that my distance unit was Kilometers! I had to drive back and complain to the service manager and told him how incompetent their technicians are. I could have changed it to miles myself but I just want the to fix it themselves. Too bad there is no other KIA dealer near me.

This is bad because the system disables the screen for Nav while the vehicle is moving. In my case since I didn’t have voice recognition, I had to pull over to do a POI search for my next fuel stop on my trip to San Diego a couple weeks ago.

So you have been getting this no network response message as well? How long?? I noticed the only places it will let you choose/go to while you are moving are the ones on the shortcut keys on the navigation screen. I was on hold for 45 minutes with Kia this afternoon and they told me to use the pinhole to reset the whole infotainment system. I'm reluctant to do that.

My - thanks yes I bought it early November of last year so I should still have plenty of time on the subscription. I've been told to do the pinhole reset on the whole unit Ikea customer service, the UVO specialist.....

No, no, no, I don’t have the No network issue. My issue was the “Prepairing voice recognition. Please wait…” and nothing happens. And I couldn’t add a POI waypoint (or destination for that matter) while driving. I had to pull over to use the touch screen.

The service manager did the pinhole reset several times but that did not fix my “Prepairing voice recognition. Please wait…” issue. My head unit was updated today with the June 21, 2021 software version. I am still familiarizing myself with the UI of this version because I came from the pre-Nov2020 software which had three split screens.
Oh my gosh.... All the stuff is nice when it works. Interesting that you have software from june, though. I will see if that is available for us mere humans... The last big update was from April as I remember. And it sounds like it fixed your issue....
Did the pinhole reset fixed your no network issue?

Yes, it is available for download. Action123 is downloading it. He is hoping it will fix his Android Auto problem. The discussion here: My SX Turbo (USA) has new software after a voice...

I will wait a little before doing that....but I can't figure out anything else to do.
Neither of the June update nor the pinhole reset fixed my problem, unfortunately. Still getting no network response message. Googling it, it is happening on other Kia Hyundai cars lately as well but very sporadically it sounds like. Probably not many people use give me voice navigation feature anyway....
Update:
Just an update - I talked to UVO support again this morning and they informed me that the Soundhound techs installed a backend 'hot fix' last night. He wanted me to go to Setup / UVO and tap "Reconfigure Modem", and then try again. I tried a couple PTT voice commands and a couple UVO button on ceiling voice commands (I think they both do the same thing) and they all seemed to work! On we go....
Haha....but same No Network Response problem in afternoon....will try to get it in to service...very frustrating!
Talked to a different UVO person - had me go to Setup / UVO / Modem Status and check the Signal Strength. This was a new approach! They want to see a signal strength of -70 to -90. Mine was -105 to -108 which is not strong enough (at least in my driveway). They like to see 3 or more 'bars' by the UVO icon on the main screen....
Update. I did some traveling today to another town and had much better signal strength (-50 to -80 range) than where I live and everything I tested seem to work. For some reason we must have a very low signal strength in this area although I'm quite sure that this has worked in the past.... May be much Ado about nothing.
