Has anyone seen this Link?! I wasn't happy after I read this about KIA Seltos's engine reliability.

Let me know what your thoughts are.

our S with 2.0 is doing fine and also recall service was good to go. 2.0 is very quiet for 4cyl and MPG is decent for a CUV with AWD. all 1.6 with DCT drives the same regardless it's a turbo or not but jerkiness is less noticeable in Niro because of electric motor assist when first starting out. we had a veloster with DCT and no mechanical issue when we sold the car with 140k+ miles. I think most common complaints is the jerkiness of DCT and there are jerkiness in $120k 911 so people should try them before committing and understand it's the nature of the DCT and not a mechanical failure/problem.

I've gotten completely used to the Dual Clutch. The article is not about the transmission but the engine. Still waiting for my vacuum pump to be installed. Having some communication difficulty getting hold of Service by phone. My dealership is lying to me about getting the vacuum pump in. Not happy right now with them. Stay tuned

UPDATE: They replaced it with new. No problems at all. Runs great. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Our turbo seems to be running fine - 2 2500 trips to see the kids under our belts....but if it left us old people stranded in the middle of Montana I could never forgive it....hahahahah.......

Two years and 76,000 miles into my Seltos ownership and there have been no issues! Yes, you read that correctly - 76,000 miles. Still feels like a new car to me. Trips to WA, UT, NV, AZ and all over CA. Only unscheduled expense - $2.20 for a rubber bumper door stop that went missing from the passenger front door.

Thanks for some good news - we often only hear bad news here. We're off in 5 weeks for another 2500 trip so you have buoyed my confidence!

Damn those rubber bumper door stops! shakes fist at the sky
Well 37000 and I've had:
  • Auto Lane Assist, going nuts. result = Dealer had to remove paint on ground wire for proper connection.
  • Vacuum Pump replacement. One week at dealership.
I have a 14 hour trip coming up in October and I'm crossing my fingers. But I still love my Seltos.

Thanks for the input. Knowing that most car makers use components and systems across multiple models. For some issues one would have to ask if it is related to the make and not the model?

I am thinking along the lines of the infamous airbag issue that plagued multiple makes and models.
