So, I just had my oil changed from a 3rd party vendor, and when I go to reset my oil life mileage, I get the notification it has been reset, but it wasn't. Last time I had to go back to the dealer to have them reset it. Is there a fix I don't know about?

Depending where you are, you may well be one (as I was) where the re-set for servicing has been factory set to need to be done by the dealer service team. However, it is possible to request your dealer to plug in their magic service iPad, and set it to be user re-set. I did this, so that re-set button goes from greyed out to 'live'.

Your dealer is capable of changing the level of allowable user access to the maintenance schedule reset feature. Very easy for him to do and very convenient for you. Ask and he should do it - no skin off his nose! In the unlikely instance that he demurs, find another dealer.

I just went there, and they reset it for me again. However, they didn't fix the issue. When I talked to them about it, the claim it has to wait for a software update. Guess I am off to another dealer

As I recall, having been chased through the same 'software update' BS drill, once you lay hands on a willing tech, the option change menu is in the same area on his tablet screen as that the tech will use to do the reset. The tech just needs to go the extra inch to give the customer access to the feature the customer has paid for and owns.

Exactly - as I also said above. It is quite easy fr them to do it - nothing to do with needing a software update. My Seltos is a 10/19 build, and had had no software updates when the tech did it for me. I was surprised to be told when I had my car serviced just 3 days ago, that the last update, which I put on, and was dated 220623, (which in the strange reverse way they seem to date things = 23rd of June, 2022, I presume), and was the latest - according to them. That's for Aus. Anyone else got later than that..?

I had the same problem with my 2023 Seltos SX and then the dealer told me it was locked in South Korea at the factory and the dealer was to unlock it for you on the first oil change at the dealership. Have to go back to the dealer to get it unlocked, get my second key FOB.
