Planning to Order Soon - Just a couple of questions, please

Greetings. My wife and I are hopefully going to order a new '22 Seltos LX AWD later this week. I posted an intro on the New Members page if you want more details.

The local dealer (where I used to work as webmaster and vehicle photographer) does not have an LX Seltos to look at, so I've done all of my research online. The salesman was very helpful and showed us his personal SX Turbo AWD, but I didn't even bother driving it since it's a completely different drivetrain. There are a couple of questions about small details that I could not find answers to. So, I'm reaching out to you all.

Please note I am looking at the '22 Seltos LX AWD, so information on other levels may/may not be relevant.

1) I read where the lower models have a center armrest that is hard plastic and uncomfortable. A) Are the armrests on the front doors padded, or also hard plastic. B) I also read where someone bought a slip-on padded armrest cover on Amazon or eBay. Any info on that?

2) The IIHS and some online reviews don't like the halogen projector headlights. They look similar to the halogen projectors on our '20 Soul LX and I am pleased with them. We have LED headlights on our soon-to-be-traded-in '19 Subaru Forester and I hate them. Nice and bright up to about 3 feet off the ground and then it's like someone pulled a black blanket down over the top of the windshield. It's a razor-sharp cutoff between light and dark. QUESTION: I see there are optional $300 Fog Lights on the Build form. It appears they are not LED, but maybe I'm wrong. Does anyone have these, and could you please tell me if A) can they be turned on and off separately or do they go on/off with the headlights, and B) are they any help to the standard headlights?

3) What brand/model of tires are on the base with 215/55R17-inch tires. I could see Kumho on the photos, but not the type of tire.

Thank you.

You are better off with the SX. Less computer problems
I would be interested in any cushioned arm rest solutions. I tend to keep my left leg back and rest my knee on the arm rest. This was not a problem on my Ford Edge, in fact I didn't even think about it. I noticed the discomfort almost right away on my SX, I would love to have a nice clean solution to this.
@Chappy - Hi. There are a few center console armrest cushions on this Amazon page that I will probably look at. Looking at the photos of the interior on the Kia site, it looks like your knee must rest just below the power windows switches. It will be hard to add a cushion there unless it's pretty permanent.

EDIT: Sorry - forgot to add the link.

Amazon.com : center console armrest cushion

We just ordered the car this morning, so we have about 3 months to shop.

Are you taking about the LED daytime running lights? I have a 2021 Seltos S AWD and I love them. They are super bright during daylight but they do dim where you cut on the headlights and fog lights.

Hi. No, I think the fog lights that we could order as an option were just halogen and fit in the small slot on the lower bumper just ahead of each front tire. Either way, we decided against ordering them. I can always add them later, as it appears they are plug and play. We have just the halogen headlights (and no fog lights) on our '20 Soul LX and we are both fine with them.
