I have had remote starters in my other vehicles but this is by far the least user friendly. I am always putting it on Valet somehow. I absolutely hate it! Anyone have any suggestions? My husband bought it for me for Christmas and I have only been able to use it a couple times. So frustrating!

Factory remote starters are usually bottom end crap and so are other aftermarket ones. With the factory one there is no lights on at night using the key fob(not UVO) to indicate your car has started and it only gives you a 10 min.run time and the fob does not indicate if your car is running or not..They also have very poor range.I have used Idatalink(made in Germany) remotes in other cars I have owned and living in eastern Canada,we certainly need them, and they work flawlessly.Park lights and turn signal lights flash at 3 sec. intervals at night, 3000 ft. range plus a two way communicator meaning the fob light flashes with the lights on the car to tell you it is running. They also control the heated seats and the rear window defogger. You can also get up to a 30 min. runtime if needed. I was thinking of replacing the factory crap with one of these for next winter. They are approx. 500.00 CDN. installed with the factory one removed.A price and product you just can beat.

That’s absolutely correct if you need or want the extra functionality. It’s like upgrading the stereo. I live in Alberta, Canada and have never wanted or needed remote start at all so this is an extra for me. The fob starts the car and it can run for up to 30 minutes if I really want it to. 2 or 3 minutes is plenty. I don’t want anyone to see if my car is running and I always see or hear it start. Really it’s just as if you started It from in the car. So it’s very basic but more than enough for me. Most cars don’t even come with it.
UVO does a lot more and I set up a couple of profiles but never use it. Not necessary for me and takes too long.
The sound system is where I have wants and needs where others are perfectly fine with the base system. So each to their own.
