i just buy a Kia Seltos imported from China, i am very happy but disapointed that i cant use Apple Carplay because of the software version (SP2C.CHN.SOP.L.VA.0.221130).

I am here to get some help and share also tips.

There are several others in a similar position, and sorry, but there does not appear to be a workaround for that issue.

 

i will try to contact Kia on my side to see what they can do for me. I will also meet an hacker specialized in cars today in Algeria to see what he cans do. I would like to try to update the software with a US or middle east version, but i dont want to meet a brick issue.

 

i tryed to each Kia via email on many differents emails, until now i dont have any feedback, will keep you up.

Not sure that would work here where the issue is non-compatible Chinese version of the software. However, my car did not have wireless carplay, and the phone had to be plugged into the central USD port directly. However, a CarLink3 dongle adaptor works extremely well, and in effect, gave me wireless CarPlay. So, it might be worth a try, as the CarLink dongles are fairly cheap. What’s to lose..?
