I've just been told my 2021 Kia Seltos ex Premium needs a new transmission. 2950 kms on the car.
Any others out there and if so, was the problem solved after the first replacement?

Yes, mine is being replaced as we speak. Driven for 11,000kms. I’m really upset about this. Although Kia have been helpful, I don’t understand how things have gone so badly do quickly.
I agree. Very upsetting. The dealership said the transmissions are on backorder so they have me a Kia Soul to use. I guess all we can do is hope the replacement will be the last one. I love my Seltos and was so happy with it until this happened. Good luck. Keep me updated please.
maybe check out on the Soul Forum as quite a few members have gone through something similar (same transmission, also used in the Forte too). Here is a link to one large threads (there are many others) that might give you an idea how it worked out for some of them.

Thank you so much for the info and the link. Wow, I have to say it all sounds bad. I'm so disappointed. I really liked the car. I'm going to check with the dealership to see if my car has been updated. I also requested the PDI from where I bought it. I'll have to do some investigating to prepare myself so I don't get jerked around.

I’m experiencing the same problem. The transmission went out in my Seltos at 5,800 miles. It’s been in the shop for 46 days waiting on a transmission to arrive. I’m hoping the new transmission and update will fix the problem but I’m nervous it will happen again.
I feel you. I'm told the transmissions are on back order and could take 3 to 4 weeks. Does that mean there are many more cases of this?

Surely there are more cases, and if not, there will be in the future. My transmission went out with absolutely no prior warning. I went to take off at a stoplight and it suddenly wouldn’t accelerate. I have been given at least five different dates for when the new transmission will arrive, and it keeps getting pushed back every time. I was told today that the part has been shipped and should arrive next week. Fingers crossed! I’ll keep you posted.

Are you in Australia?

Mine did the same thing at the end of its very short life. First sign was in Nov, stalled at the lights, just got worse and I was told 2x that the computer wasn’t detecting any problems.

If you are asking me, no, I'm in Toronto, Ontario Canada

I'm in the US and have the EX model. When my transmission failed on December 4th, the dealership diagnosed it as a transmission problem and said it needed to be replaced. How long has your car been out of service? I was really happy with my Seltos, too, but have been upset to have this happen and to have been waiting so long for my vehicle to be repaired.

Last week, I received a letter in the mail from Kia about a voluntary service campaign to update the software programming on the Transmission Control Module and if necessary, replace the transmission. I assume Kia is aware there is a problem since they put out a service campaign. Hopefully, the software update and new transmission will fix the problem but I'm afraid it will happen again.
I've only had the car about 7 weeks. It had 2980 km on it. I had it towed Friday past. They are saying they might have it 3 to 4 weeks. Waiting for a shipment of transmissions. Looks like they are going to need them.

I have not received any notice about an update whatsoever.
I'm so Glad that I've read these posts! Called my dealer and asked, and they confirmed the transmission problems. They told me that I NEED to come in and the Transmission needs to be Reprogrammed. I haven't experienced any problems yet, but I'm sure glad I called.

Run, don't wait. I hope it is the fix you need. I may have seen another chat here that relates to your turbo engine. Good luck.
I just picked up my seltos EX in Ontario. Is this an issues across all models or just the EX premium? I've got less than 200Kms on it right now with no issues. But it's not very comforting knowing that I could have a transmission issue while driving around.
