The U.S. Seltos SX w/ two tone does not have the following that exist in Korean, Canadian, and Indian Versions:

1. Head-up display (hopefully with larger numbers in the future)
2. Power passenger seat
3. Heated steering wheel
4. Heated front and rear seats (We only have heated front seats for now.)
5. Ventilated front seats (COME ON!!!! Canada does not get hotter than here in the U.S.)

What I want for future U.S. Seltos to get:

1. Two tone exterior with sunroof (This is not possible now, but I watched some Korean car reviewers saying that it should be available in the near future.)
2. Power folding side mirrors with on/off switch (This is something that I always wanted in my 2011 Optima SX)
3. Option of having dark plum seats (Korean version has this now and it looks awesome with some exterior colors.)
4. Slightly updated redesign of left and right side vents and dashboard stitching to give more upscale feel.
5. Slightly updated redesign of rear fake spoiler for a little more sophisticated solution where it doesn't look so fake by adding more depth or something.

I want to yell at whoever is running U.S. division of Kia so they wake up and stop making stupid decisions like hiding features that exist in other parts of the world. We want to be treated equally. I have been watching a lot of Korean reviews on youtube to follow Seltos as soon as it debuted last year. I even remember the concept design of Seltos with a different name at some auto show. U.S. Kia got me pissed off when they decided to take heated steering wheel out for 2011 Optima SX that I purchased. This time, I am hesitant to make a move... I'll probably get a different car as I need a new one this year. For other potential buyers, Hyundai Tucson will be out in Korea later this year and it might come out as a surprisingly more interesting car to look at.

As a long time VW/Audi user I’ve felt your pain. We seem to get the scraps compared to Europe especially. It finally drove me away and I’m enjoying my Canadian market Seltos SXT with all the features I want and need.
Although I might have preferred the 2 tone roof over the sunroof which is unimportant to me.

Didn't realize we, for once, didn't get the shorter end of the stick. Generally the features and functions in the US models are way better. (2020 Soul Turbo for example - cannot get the Soul in Canada with a Turbo anymore).

I have a Neptune Blue 'American' SXT Seltos and share your aggravation. I would have liked the dark plum seats, ventilated seats (I live in. Florida), a heads-up display, and auto-folding side mirror as I had in my traded in 2016 Optima! I really love my Seltos but am a bit disappointed and angry that KIA chose to keep the features from American Seltos buyers ...especially those like myself that bought the top of the line version!

One issue I discovered is the Weather Widget. Since it pulls from HD Radio, in my area it is way off. Gives me weather from the coast over 100 miles away - 61 degrees and overcast when in reality home it is 92 degrees and clear skies! Perhaps homeland would be better.

I wonder if there's a way to have that pull from an Android/iPhone weather app instead. 🤔 I just got my Seltos... so I might have to see if that is possible.

NO ventilated seats, NO HUD... that's bad enough, but the real slap in the face is NO homelink. To add homelink, KIA wants over $150!!
Odd that the Canadian model has this and the US model doesn't. It would be like adding the heated steering wheel to US models and not the Canadian model. Silly...

I agree especially after owning (2) Seltos's, S & SX in the past 3 months. I was going through the SX manual and was very impressed with all the electronic gadgets, got excited about the ventilated seats, H.U.D. & heated steering wheel. I ran out to car with the manual, but to my surprise they weren't there. So I agree with Hungry Yoki,

This past week we started seriously considering our first Kia (Seltos, SX). Quick question...

Does Kia typically only introduce changes such as those mentioned in this thread (HUD, power passenger seat, etc) only on a model year basis? So what we have now is what we have until the 2022s? Or do they sometimes modify mid-model year?

Appreciate any info.

I don't have the answer to your question since I am not experienced with Kia, but if we do see these added features in the US, I would expect a higher sales price.......not withstanding what "the rest of the world gets."

I worked for KIA for many many years. I have never seen them add features mid-year. It would be in the new model the following year. So yes, you are correct. You'll have to wait until next year to see if there are any new features added. Keep in mind... Sometimes features get removed as well. The KIA Soul in Canada for example. You cannot get the Turbo model anymore. But it comes loaded with other things now.

I've noticed that with mine as well. I had the radar map on my 2015 Nissan Murano, wasn't great, but it worked. The graphics weren't great but it was able to zoom in/out and accurate. Seltos weather map shows about 40 miles south of where I live. No zoom or I can't move the map other than north and south, limited to the area it's showing. Poor!

I also have the Neptune Blue 'American' SXT. I am disappointed in the reduced features (except I don't care about the two-tone). Also, I'm disappointed there was not an option for a tow-bar other than the 'non-tow' lifestyle hitch. I see Curt now has one available after-market.
