Window tint 2021 seltos questions

Has anyone tinted the windows on their seltos?

I’m not sure if I should match the factory tint or tint the front two to 35 percent?

Can you please post window tint pictures and what tint you guys went with?

Just ask them to match the rear window tint. Have no idea what percentage it is and don't care. Get the tint that that you want as long as it's legal
I bought my Seltos over a year ago in Florida and had the dealer tint the front door windows and the top of my front windshield. IT was part of my sales negotiations. They did a great job and it matches the factory rear door windows perfectly, IMO. I believe they did 35% ...it was whatever the maximum allowed in Florida is!

On mines I put 35% ceramic tint. Here on Puerto Rico 20% is illegal so I keep it legal.

Bringing this post back up with some pics from last year when I still had temp tags!

15% front, ~10-12% rear.

I put 25% ceramic tint on the front windows and the visor strip. It makes a huge difference for the hot texas sun. It looks pretty uniform around the vehicle as well.

I finally made the appointment to get my front widows tinted with 35% (lowest legal in my state) and also have a sun strip placed on the windshield. I am so excited! Quoted me only $160!

I don’t know why I waited so long..
Let’s see some pictures. Did you go with ceramic or standard tint?

I was just saying that I made the appointment which will be happening Friday. I called two places, and nobody asked me if I wanted ceramic or standard. I don’t really know the difference but maybe I should do some research before I go in so that I get what I want.

I will definitely take pictures after!
Standard tint is just the color, ceramic tint has a UV blocker in it so heat from UV rays don’t soak the interior of your vehicle as quickly. People have noticed that the AC doesn’t work as hard to keep up on hot days.

Keep a close eye on infrared rather than UV. I’ve been having people use Xpel Color Stable film on my leased cars which isn’t ceramic but still blocks 99% of UV.

Infrared blocking varies massively based on how the film is made - but I garage park most places I go so I don’t have much of a drawback with the cheaper film.

I forgot the brand I used but it has a lifetime guarantee at any dealer for fading, scratches, bubbles, peeling, or in case a window is replaced. I spent $160 I believe for the front two windows and the visor strip.

Yeah I think 3M, LLumar, and Xpel all have that warranty. They more or less produce the same products and just compete for the local installers. Tint films and vehicle wrap films have gotten so good in the last few years that the differences are very difficult to spot after years of use.

I’m just picky so I use whichever installer has the Xpel films so I know exactly what to expect in terms of color.

Looks like I paid just shy of $300 for all side windows, trunk, and sunroof (lighter film on sunroof). Would have been closer to 450 if I went ceramic. Not worth it to me for what’s essentially a long term rental car. And local pricing is definitely a factor there… Not so lucky here where I am.

Apparently I forgot that I opted for the Xpel ceramic film on my van (own, no lease) but it does it’s job 100%. Nice and cool inside. Very different use case than my Seltos though because it’s never indoors

My car is a lease as well...just 3 years left (I did 4). However, I may have to end up buying it the way the car market is these days, and there are definitely no guarantees it will get better.

I suppose I will message the people doing it before Friday and ask what they use or quoted me for. They did say it has a lifetime guarantee. I would definitely like some help with my A/C!
