We actually bought our Seltos from a dealer in Virginia after striking out on all local NC (up to 45 minute drives away) dealers. We called them on a whim to try and test drive and just see one in person. We were told they didn't have any on the lot, BUT one of their employees was willing to let us test drive theirs.

On callback to arrange a time and date, they told us a '22 LX was coming in on May 16th, and recommended to make a move on it if we were heavily interested, as they absolutely do not last long on any dealer lot (one of our local dealers had one for half an hour before it was sold).

We drove up to VA the next day to test drive, fell in love, and put down a deposit. Four days later, we received a call that the Seltos had arrived early, and we quickly scuttled up to the dealer to sign and drive.

I got my VIN today, apparently means it is on a ship on the way to North America, then by rail across Canada to Nova Scotia. Figuring 3-4 weeks..

What dealer are you ordering from in NS?

Dartmouth Kia.. I was 2nd on their list with a down payment when the policy changed that they were not taking specific model orders, just getting an allotment from Kia Canada. I had a choice between an orange EX or a black LX.

Right on, I'm waiting on mine from New Minas. They never provided my Vin number but said first week of June, original date was September. Not sure if that means next week or the week after.

Truth is I'm not all that unhappy about the delay. I'm hoping between now and when I get word Kia announces a Seltos Hybrid. If that's the case I'll switch my request and wait the extra year. I already would have switched to the Spotage HEV except that the thing is HIDEOUS inside and out. I seriously considered it despite how hideous it is. But Woof.

I seem to recall hearing that the K2 platform isn't Hybrid compatible, they would need to do a complete revamp...

Couldn't say. My dealer at the time I talked to them said it likely would sooner or later but that he'd heard no confirmations. I can dream. These gas prices are getting outta hand.

The dealer helped me out. We were actually not in all that big a hurry, we were actually hoping that the wait was long enough that either KIA announced a Hybrid Seltos, or we had at the same time had a Sportage HEV on order, we were hoping they got a delivery date to confirm when it might arrive.

Ultimately my current car shit the bed and I was in a position where I was likely going to need to cancel my orders and look for something in the used market. Called my salesman to ask if he had anything on the used lot that might fit my needs. He got back to me later advising they had one coming in that hadn't been pinned on anyone yet but was in the wrong color. If we could wait three weeks, maybe rent something to get us through them, he would have his sales manager put my name on it. So I got lucky.

Not sure you can use my experience as an indicator for how long you might wait.
