So I've had a long list of "serious" problems with my 2021 Seltos SX Turbo, which I've posted here before...but now, I've got a new "query", if not a problem, per se. So I had my Nav/info system replaced with a brand new one, which is the updated "version 2"...I've got the 10:25 screen btw...but it's so changed from what I had before, which I really liked...I had a "triple" screen...map/clock/radio....but now, I only have 2 options at best, and not too user friendly....my question: has anybody found out a way to kind of "re-establish" the previous setup?

Gosh, Mykia, it looks like you never had that software up date done since purchase. I had the screen like you describe as the first layout, being a 2019/20 model, and which I quite liked, but it changed to the present layout right from my first update. I briefly regretted the change, but have adapted. There are some benefits from playing with the right 3rd of the screen. You can have the map or nav in the left 2/3rds and your music or radio in the right 3rd, and if map is selected similarly. In map mode, when you hit a freeway, the right 3rd will automatically show more detail such as distance to next exit, list of the next three exits, etc, even when not in actual nav mode, but your car-play/media music will pop up briefly in the right 3rd when the track changes. That’s quite a useful thing. Just play with it a bit and you’ll soon get used to it, However, I don’t think you can make it go back to the previous layout. You will have noticed the colours of the screen icons will have changed as well. Cheers, Pete
Yes, I have noticed those differences since, alas, I still think I prefer the old layout. In fact, that's the reason I didn't do the update in the first place because I had read the "negative" reviews. But I guess when they replace the unit with a new one it's going to automatically include said update.

So another odd thing I've noticed is that while the new unit's dimensions have obviously remained the same, the screen's actual "image size" is noticeably smaller than my previous unit's...iow, the border areas are larger, thicker... I'd say there's almost 1 cm on each four sides that are now just black and serve no purpose

Btw, I'm kind of slowly warming up to the new screen... The option to have the right side 3rd of the screen show a different angle for the GPS is an especially cool feature...

Hi. So whatever my driving habits were when i first got the car have remained the same... I initially began noticing the "shuddering" issue about 2 years in, which eventually led to the first major repair, which was the clutch replacement... And while unfortunately in my 45 years of driving, I've not acquired any knowledge inasfar as the mechanics and inner workings of an automobile are concerned, i do have pretty good instincts when it comes to the its driving dynamics and what not... In fact, i think it was because of my time driving a stick, that i noticed the shuddering at it's very "infancy"... It took several trips - and road tests - for the Kia mechanic to arrive at the same conclusion... Who knows, maybe these younger fellas just don't have all that much experience driving a manual these days so they're not as sensitive to it's behavior either... Anyway, my point being that I've had the Seltos for about a month now following the transmission being replaced due to said overheating issues... And I'm afraid I'm noticing the beginnings of that dreaded shuddering behavior yet again... So needless to say, I'm quite stressed about how this is going to turn out...

I hear ya. But then my 45 years surely shouldn't put me at a disadvantage compared to someone with far less experience, in fact, quite the contrary. But my main issue with all of this is that any given vehicle should be user friendly enough to drive - even for a beginner - so as to not have to worry about such factors. Anyway, just to reiterate, initially, like in the first couple of years, I would drive much as I do now in heavy traffic and the DCT transmission seemed to work fine. No overheating. Then slowly over the next few months, I noticed that the temperature would rise in identical situations. Couldn't be my driving then. Something in the car did change, however. It shouldn't be that hard to believe that this particular car might be a "lemon", so to speak. You know there are such "bad apples" in everything, every brand, Tv, radio, microwave, etc. We've all had to return a defective or damaged item before. This is not so unusual. As for the auto hold feature, yes, I've used it accordingly since day 1. While my understanding of the mechanics of a vehicle leaves a lot to be desired, as previously mentioned, I am a sucker for all things "gadget-y". The more buttons, features, options i find in a product, the more I enjoy having it. Anyway thanks for the continued "support". Hopefully, the shuddering is paranoia kicking in because of my negative experiences thus far. Those not withstanding, I actually really really like the Seltos. And I want this to work out for me.
